Fort Sam Houston ISD (Cole) has implemented a mask mandate for ALL indoor sports. Parents, guests, coaches and players on the bench must be wear a mask until further notice. The athletes actively participating in the game do not have to wear a mask.

This evening our 7th and 8th Grade Lady Mustangs traveled to Cole to take on the Cougars. The 7th grade Lady Mustangs came out with a victory, 37-26. They were lead by Grace Gomez with 20pts, Kourtney Johnson had 9pts, Raven Barrera contributed 4, while Gabi Limon and Zeanna Croft each chipped in a bucket. Defensively, we were lead by Kourtney Johnson and Jocelyn Vasquez with numerous steals and forced turnovers. In 8th grade action our Lady Mustangs came up short against Cole, 19-8. Alize Davila contributed 4pts, Dulce Mosqueda had 3 and Cora Barillet had 1pt. Defensively Janice White and Tyra Ortiz lead the way with numerous steals, forced turnovers and rebounds. The next action for our Lady Mustangs will be this Saturday as our 8th grade Lady Mustangs play in our 26th Annual Nixon-Smiley Lions Club Tournament. Games start at 8:30AM. GO LADY MUSTANGS!!

This evening our MS Lady Mustangs took on the Eagles of Luling. Our 7th and 8th Grade Lady Mustangs were victorious in two physical games. 7th grade won 32-8 and 8th grade won 28-8. 7th grade was lead by Grace Gomez with 16pts, Kourtney Johnson had 6pts, Zeanna Croft had 4pts, and Dani Jenks and Mariela Limon each had 2pts. Defensively, the 7th grade was lead by Marysol Granandos and Jocelyn Vasquez with numerous steals and forced turnovers. 8th grade was lead by Alize Davila with 14pts, Cora Barillet, Janice White, and Tyra Ortiz each contributed 4pts. Josie Ellis had 2pts. Defensively, Tyra Ortiz and Alize Davila had numerous steals and rebounds. Our Lady Mustangs will be back in action Wednesday, December 1st, at SA Cole.

Last call for Chick-fil-A meal tickets!! The senior class is holding a Chick-fil-A meal fundraiser next Wednesday, October 13th. The meal will include one sandwich, a bottle of water, and a bag of chips. Cost is $10. You must have a ticket in order to pick up your meal. Meals will be handed out by drive-thru in front of the high school, 4:30-6:00pm. You may purchase a ticket from a senior class member or from Mrs. Newman in the high school office by this Friday. Thank you for supporting the NSHS Class of 2022!

This past Monday (Sept 27) our Middle School Lady Mustangs took on the Lady Ro-Hawks. Our 7th grade Blue (B) and 7th grade Red (A) both won. The Blue team was led by Mariela Castillo Limon with her consistent serving and Dakota Flores with key passes. They won 25-20 and 30-29. The 7th grade red team was led by Grace Gomez with her all-around play and also Lee-nuh Pecina and Trinity Casas with their setting and passing. They won 25-18 and 25-13. Our 8th grade Blue (B) team split with Randolph each winning one game. The Lady Mustangs were led by Broolylen Hansen and Yizel Galvan. The 8th grade Red (A) team played well but fell short losing both games by the same score 25-16. Sadie Walden and Caliah Rodriguez both served well. The Lady Mustangs are again in action on Monday October 4th as they travel to our rival Stockdale up the road. Games begin at 5pm.
