Nixon-Smiley CISD is waiting for further guidance from our local leaders, UIL, and Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath. Pending further direction from those agencies, we are asking that staff and students plan to continue following our current safety protocols for quarantine, social distancing, and wearing of masks at least through March 10th. We will send an update as quickly as decisions are made regarding any guidelines after March 10th.

This is just a reminder that NSCISD will have tacos to go from 11:30-1:00 at the Nixon and Smiley cafeterias for any children ages 1-18.

Nixon-Smiley CISD will remain closed on Friday, February 19th. We hope this will allow our community and staff members a day to make repairs and dig out of this mess.
Both the Nixon and Smiley cafeterias will be providing tacos to go for children ages 1-18 from 11:30am-1:00pm. on Friday. We hope this helps!

Due to continued issues with water and electricity around our community, plus anticipated freezing rain tonight and tomorrow, Nixon-Smiley CISD will remain closed Thursday, February 18th.

Due to continued power outages and the threat of more ice/sleet tonight, NSCISD will not have school on Wednesday. We will continue monitoring the situation and send out updates as we have them. We are all anxious to get back to school but student/staff safety will continue being our top priority.

Attention Nixon-Smiley CISD Families! If you have a child that turned 3 or 4 by September 1, 2020 and he/she is NOT in school, please fill out this survey.

Parents and Guardians - please be sure you have submitted your choice form for the type of instruction you want for your child(ren) in the fall (in person, remote online, or remote paper packets). That will allow us to build schedules and assign your child’s teachers. If you do not do so by today, there will be delays in assigning your child(ren) to a teacher or getting their class schedule.

Online registration will be open on August 13-14. All students must be registered for the 2020-2021 school year even if remote instruction is chosen.
If assistance with online registration is needed, call your chid's campus to make an appointment.

Screenings for off-campus students will be by appointment only in order to follow social distancing guidelines. Scheduling information will be posted as it becomes available.
